Our client is seeking Supply Quality Engineers in Laconia, New Hampshire (NH). This role will support operations and engineering by identifying process improvement opportunities within the supply chain. Working with the suppliers develop corrective action plans to correct any process failings and drive improvement in quality and productivity. Assist in all supplier qualification endeavors including supplier on site audit and evaluation. Duties and
Responsibilities: Supplier Quality Management and Supplier process improvement:
Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
Working with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures
Review supplier manufacturing processes collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
Regularly communicate with Engineering, Quality Engineering and Supply Chain internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement
Collect and maintain supplier performance metrics
Coordinate with Technical Support, Engineering, Manufacturing and Technical Support to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues
Participate in ECO meeting to ensure awareness to design changes. Ensure implementation is in accordance with 1st article process
Regularly visit suppliers and assist Supply Chain in conducting Supplier Audits
Support corrective action process:
Participate in QMS meetings and present purchased part or product quality issues
Investigate reported external quality issues that are believed to be purchased part or product driven and present findings at QMS meetings
Perform or lead root cause analysis on purchased part or product quality issues and work issue through containment phase of corrective action process
Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process and quality tools & techniques
Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and best-practices required
Knowledge and experience with manufacturing, metals and engineering required
Aptitude for in problem solving
Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Background in Lean and/or Six Sigma principles including Process Mapping, SS, DMAIC, Cellular Manufacturing, FMEA,
Thorough working knowledge of the various customer and industry quality system models such as ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA, etc, is desired
Working knowledge of and ability to interpret customer and industry standards, specifications, and regulations
Experience in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ability to work with and/or lead functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Minimum five (5) years experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering preferably in an aerospace environment
BS or BA in Engineering or related discipline or technical equivalent
